I I have always enjoyed the act of capturing images.
I remember my Dad's Canon T70 and how much we both enjoyed using it and the images it helped make. I was amazed by the crispness of the shots compared to my regular instamatics.
Inspired by some friends who created some stunning images with the camera, as well as a couple of years being taught high quality amateur video and editing techniques in the early '80s i continued to pick up a few tips and tricks here and there over time.
So then it was trekking around the country-side rock-climbing and bushwalking with the most versatile single lens I could get my hands on, followed by family and kids and the joy of capturing the fun of growing up. Then a different city followed by a different country - life got busy - but I managed to keep with it on film still.
... then comes along the digital age ...
All of a sudden the ability to capture images, review them instantly and do my own processing and tweaking in my own digital darkroom opened up a world of opportunity and simplified the process.
I am constantly trying new techniques, reading, listening and learning. I believe there are two key factors in building your craft. The willingness to look for new ideas and try new perspectives as well as the need to get out there and shoot shoot shoot ...
This website represents the continuing evolution of a photographic life, some thoughts and ideas, and most importantly a wish and willingness to share the image making experience.
All the links are here including links to various on-line presences and forums as well as the various on-online galleries that I participate in.
