The annual Laura Campdraft, Rodeo and Races event in Cape York provided three awesome days of entertainment at the start of the school holidays again.
This year the weather was overcast with a very light misty rain on the Saturday helping keep the temperatures below thirty degrees on what is quite often a dry, dusty and warm start to the winter break at the top end.
The organisers and sponsors are doing an awesome job at turning this in to an annual must-see spectacular exhibition of the some of the finest horsemanship in the country.
This isn't just for the adults. Many up-and-coming cowboys and cowgirls actively participate making this a whole-of-family affair across many of the stations in the Cape.
I pretty much say this every year, and certainly to anyone who is passing by at the time, that this is an event worth taking the time out to catch for visitors in the area. Laura is nicely situated on the last stretch of sealed road before heading up to the Cape and so makes it easily accessible for anyone irrespective of mode of transport.
